On the roads as they are!

Lethargic, sleep deprived, fingers dipped in colors (thanks to the late night paintings) and – running late to the office. Welcome to the situation of everyday that I see myself in, as I start my schedule of being a part of this society or civilization as we call it.

Only difference is that I can’t take a nap now, not in the auto rickshaws (tuk-tuk as the firangis call it) or in the metro any more, as the loud scream of Anna Hazare’s followers follow me everywhere to invade the privacy of my ears – would not forgive anyone for it.

However, that is not my problem with the so called ‘Second revolution’ after Gandhi’s morcha to get rid of the firangis from our country. In fact, I don’t have any problem with it what so ever, but few concerns to say the least.

Pointers – well here they are…

Scene: - Watching the school kids chanting Inquilab Zindabad at the India Gate.
Feeling – The education system definitely is on a toss and a tribute for the same shall be paid to Mr. Hazare, who, in search of a corruption free country is damaging the intellect side of the students, who are going to take care of the functionality of different sectors of the country in the future and need more appropriate lessons on how to ‘make things happen’.

Scene: - A group of youngsters carrying Tiranga in a metro coach and screaming – ek, do, teen, chaar – bandh karo ye attyachar.
Feeling: - They say that the first coach of the metro train is reserved for women and with  prints that are obvious enough to be visible, its written in bold enough letters for me to see and not even think of stepping inside it (with due respect, at times I don’t like this discrimination but then, so be it).

However, for Anna followers the guidelines to follow rules do not exist and they easily storm in the girls compartment and bark their way to glory, and for me to think; is this really a revolution for making rules that would ensure accountability? If yes, then what shall be the accountability of these followers and more importantly – TO WHOM?
Supporting quote- If what we are watching on TV is indeed a revolution, then it has to be one of the more embarrassing and unintelligible one of the recent times – Arundhati Roy.

Scene: - A guy on fast, lying low with almost squeezed out energy in Ramlila Maidan and the country on the roads defying the contribution and productivity that works as a cycle on daily basis. And for – Jan Lokpal Bill
Feeling: - For, someone who himself has been charged and held guilty of misappropriating Rs. 2 lakh from the Hind Swaraj Trust, which amounted to corruption, in an inquiry was Justice P B Sawant in 2005 (though it is not conclusive – but none of the charges on any public personalities are either. For e.g. Lallu Prasad yada, George Fernandes, Madhu Koda, Suresh Kalmadi and the list goes on without any definite answers to it). I sit in my office and the places that I visit in normal life and see the educated lot not even aware about what Jan Lokpal means and they find it hard to pronounce, are these people we need to fight for it? Getting them on road is the way to solutions?

The biggest of the questions that remains unnoticed is – we might appoint a guard, but who will keep an eye on the guard?
